Kalu Waterfall Rappelling: Malshej Ghat, Maharashtra
Kalu Waterfall, one of Maharashtra’s tallest and most stunning hidden waterfalls, is located in the serene Malshej Ghat region. This breathtaking waterfall is formed on the Kalu River, originating from the iconic Harishchandragad mountain range. Cascading from a total height of approximately 412 meters (1,200 feet) and divided into five stages, it offers the ultimate adventure for rappelling enthusiasts.

Important Note:
Kalu Waterfall rappelling is a technical rappelling event that requires prior rappelling experience. First-time trekkers are not permitted to join for safety reasons.

The itinerary for the event will be as follows:
Day:0 – Fri. 27 Dec 2024
- 23:00pm – Mumbai Participant
- The first meeting point is at Borivali National Park gate.
- Further pickup Malad Oberai Mall, Andheri Flyover end, Bandra Kalanagar Signal, Sion lunch home, Amar Mahal Junction, Nalanda Ghatkopar, Vikroli, Bhandup Pumping / Airoli Signal EEH, Thane Teen hat naka, Kalyan-Bhiwani Bypass below the bridge.
- Leader / Coordinator number and other details will be shared separately 1 day before starting the event.
- Overnight travel to base. Rest in the vehicle. En-route halt for tea and washroom.
Day:1 – Sat. 28 Dec 2024
- 05:00 Early morning breakfast tea and freshen-up (No Washroom)
- 06:00 Equipment allotment and short briefing start rappelling one by one.
- Over a Day we will cover 5 different rappelling stages of the waterfall.
- Bring something for snacks and lunch.
- 16:00 Tentative rappeling completed.
- Hike the nearest village change clothes and catch the same vehicle
- 18:30 Travel back to Mumbai and the event concluded with memories.
- This is an outdoor activity in a remote area, so everyone is expected to cooperate if things don’t go as planned.
- Please note that the mentioned timings are tentative and may vary by up to 30/60 minutes due to factors such as rappelling conditions, the walking pace of participants, and other unforeseen circumstances.

Things to carry:
- Rucksack or bag to carry all things (Compulsory)
- ID Card Xerox
- One chaddar to pullover.
- Extra pair of clothes. (Double Wrap in a plastic bag to avoid drenched)
- Some ready-eat food like plum cake, biscuits, fruits Paratha/Thepala/Boiled Eggs/Dates Etc. (Compulsory)
- Glucon-D or Electrolytes (Compulsory)
- Drinking water min 2/3ltr ( As per your requirements.)
- Personal medicine if any
- Headlamp or Torch (Compulsory)
- Good grip shoes (Compulsory) (floaters are not allowed)
