Milkyway Camping – Experience the celestial spectacle at Samrad, Bhandardara, on a moonless night. Immerse in the cosmic beauty and capture timeless moments.

Captures the ultimate and beautiful moments of the cosmos and the night sky through the DSLR camera or a Pro-mode mobile phone. Whether this is your first time picking up a camera, or whether you have a deep knowledge and experience with astrophotography, you are going to walk away with unbelievable images. For those who have no experience in photography, or night photography, this is a perfect way to learn and harness the skills necessary to take great images of the night skies wherever you travel in the future. 

Milky Way Galaxy, is a large spiral system consisting of several hundred billion stars, one of which is the Sun. It takes its name from the Milky Way, the irregular luminous band of stars and gas clouds that stretches across the sky as seen from Earth. Although Earth lies well within the Milky Way Galaxy arm called outer spur. (Sometimes simply called the Galaxy).

Sandhan Valley, crowned as the “Grand Canyon of Sahyadris” or “Valley of Shadows, is a rock cutaway formed between 2 mountain walls offering a great combination of adventure activities. Sandhan Valley Where you’ll hardly get to see the sunlight, isolated from the outer world, dead silence, passing through water ponds, lifeless rocks, and boulders, rappelling & Echoes of your footsteps will make you feel like the presence of some entity, You’ll remember this 48 hrs throughout your lifetime.  


Sandhan Valley Milkyway Camping Cost:

  • 2399/- (From-to Mumbai AC travel)
  • 1399/- (Self travel till campsite)  

Note: 

  • In case of cloudy climatic conditions, the Milky Way will not be able to be seen/captured.  
  • You have to bring a DSLR-with-Tripod or Mobile-Camera-Pro-Mode with a Tripod or monopod. 

The itinerary for the trek will be as follows:

Day:0 – Saturday 06 April 2024 | 13 April 2024 | 04 May 2024 | 11 May 2024

  • 09:30 am – First meeting point at Borivali National Park gate
  • Further pickup Malad Oberai mall, Andheri Flyover end, Bandra Kalanagar Signal, Sion lunch home, Chembur Amar Mahal junction, Ghatkopar, Vikroli, Bhandup Pumping (Airoli Signal) Thane Teen hat naka, Kalyan-Bhiwandi Bypass
  • Travel to base and rest in the vehicle.
  • 02:15 pm – Short halt immediately at Dhaba. Have a light snack or lunch as we head to the Ghat Section. 
  • 2:45 pm – Travel to base village 2.5-hr travel.
  • 06:00 pm – Reach Base village and visit sunset point ( If time permits.) Drop your bag and freshen up. Tent allotment.
  • Further evening tea/snacks. Bonfire, Music, Stories, Starry sky observation. 
  • 10:00 pm – Dinner call ( Veg / N-veg) Back to the camping area. We will try to capture some light painting moments. 
  • 11:00 pm – Retire of the day. 

Day:0 – Sunday 07 April 2024 | 14 April 2024 | 05 May 2024 | 12 May 2024  

  • 02:00 am – Wake up call, Get your DSLR cameras, and Pro mode smartphones ready with a Tripod as the Center of our Milky Way starts rising from the east horizon. You can try to capture the time-lapse. For the first timers, it will be tricky but soon you will learn.
  • 03:30 am – The clear section / main core will be visible to the camera lens from the horizon above to capture photos of the Milky Way. ( After you rest for some time.) 
  • 05:30 am – Wake up call, have breakfast and tea. Quick freshen-up two basic Indian washrooms are available. Milkyway Camping Milkyway Camping Milkyway Camping
  • 06:30 am – Short brief about surrounding Sahyadri and we will head to Sandhan Valley trek.
  • Visit Sandhan Valley’s main entrance and head deep into the valley to the wall-opening junction, hike back to the village.
  • 11:00 am – Reach back village freshen up and start travel back.
  • 06:30 pm – Tentative reach back Kasara from where catch the next available train and event concluded with memories.

Registration/Booking Information: To confirm a seat for the event, participants have two options: online or offline registration. Online Method:
  • Participants can register online through a website link.
  • The online registration process includes checking out through the website with the integration of the Cc-avenue payment gateway.
  • For online registration, participants are required to pay 100% of the event cost plus 3% of the payment gateway charges.
Offline Method:
  • Participants can choose the offline registration method.
  • In this case, participants need to transfer a minimum of 50% of the event amount through NEFT/Gpay/IMPS.
  • For offline registration, the first 50% of the event amount should be transferred 10 days before the actual event, and the remaining 50% should be transferred one day before the event.
For events lasting more than 4 days or any Himalayan events:
  • Participants need to transfer a minimum of 50% of the event amount 30 days before the event.
  • The remaining 50% should be transferred 5 days before the event. The remaining amount should be deposited as per the registration policy, or else the booking may be canceled without any refund.
Payment should be done through the mentioned modes only. EMI basis tour bookings are available with the integration of the Cc-avenue payment gateway, but cancellation of EMI bookings will incur a deduction of 10% of the tour cost plus additional applicable cancellation charges. Transfer of Seat:
  • For Himalayan events, seat bookings can be transferred to another person or shifted to the next batch, depending on availability. A notice of 20 days prior to the event is required.
  • For Sahyadri 1/2/3-day events, seat bookings can also be transferred or shifted to the next batch, with a notice of 24 hours prior to the event.
Refund:
  • In the case of seat cancellation, participants need to write an email to offbeat.wanderers17@gmail.com with the reason for cancellation.
  • Refunds are calculated based on the actual full cost of the event, not the advance payment.
  • No refund will be provided within 24 hours of the event. For detailed refund information, refer to the cancellation policy.
Cancellation:
  • The cancellation policy applies to the total cost of the tour/event, excluding paid advance.
  • For overnight 1/2/3-day Sahyadri events:
    • 75% refund if canceled prior to 5 days of the event.
    • 50% refund if canceled prior to 2 days of the event.
    • 30% refund if canceled prior to 1 day of the event.
    • No refund if canceled within 12 hours of the event.
  • For 5-day or any Himalayan events:
    • 75% refund if canceled prior to 30 days of the event.
    • 50% refund if canceled prior to 20 days of the event.
    • 15% refund if canceled prior to 10 days of the event.
    • No refund if canceled after that.
Covid-19 Cancellation Policy:
  • Refunds are provided if participants provide an ICMR/Govt lab-approved report. Travel costs will be deducted as per the cancellation policy.
  • In case of a medical emergency in the family or quarantine, the tour cost will be adjusted for the next available dates/tour. Travel costs will be deducted as per the cancellation policy.
  • State-wise regulations or government regulations will result in the cost being adjusted for the next available dates/tour.

  • The leader's decisions during the trek will be final and binding for all participants. Arguments will not be entertained.
  • Hiking, trekking, and rock climbing are adventurous activities that carry inherent risks. Despite taking precautions, accidents can occur. Participants are responsible for their own safety and Offbeat Wanderers will not be held liable for any injuries or accidents that may occur during the trek.
Medical Disclaimer:
  • It is essential to be physically fit before embarking on treks. Participants are advised to undergo a medical fitness checkup before joining the trek.
  • If you have any allergies or pre-existing medical conditions, please carry prescribed medications to prevent serious health problems such as heatstroke, severe headaches, cough, dehydration, and hypothermia.
