The itinerary for the road trip will be as follows:


Day 01: Srinagar Arrival – Thursday 23 May 2024

  • Arrive at the Srinagar airport and reach out hotel on your own.
  • Evening Shikara ride, explore the surroundings.
  • Overnight in Srinagar.

Day 02: Srinagar To Kargil via Zojila La Pass – Friday 24 May 2024 (7 hrs by surface Approx.) 

  • We will drive on the NH 1D towards Kargil and with an awesome breeze of Kashmir we’ll start our high-altitude drive. A scenic road goes up to 11575 ft., through Zojila Pass, and down deep in the second coldest place known as Drass.
  • Reach Kargil by late evening. Overnight in Kargil.

Day 03: Kargil to Leh via Lamayuru – Saturday 25th May 2024 (7 hrs by surface Approx.)

  • After fixing accessories and gearing up soon we will kick start towards Leh and today the route is smooth enough with two passes to cross Namikala (12,139 ft) And Fotula (13,478ft). While romancing with a few breath-taking villages and throwing candies to the kids who were excited to see the biker group En route we visited a few famous places like Maitrya Buddha at Mulbik and Moon land at Lamayuru. We visited the Alchi monastery which has famous Gandharva’s arts and paintings date back to the 11th century.
  • We also visit the Sangam River confluence of the two major rivers, the Indus and the Zanskar river, and the Magnetic Hill. By the evening we will Leh. Overnight in Leh.

Day 04: Shey/ Thiksey/Hemis/3-Idiout school/Sindhu Ghat – Sunday 26th May 2024 (FULL DAY TRIP AROUND LEH)

  • After breakfast leave by jeep to visit Stok Royal Palace, the present home of the royal family of Ladakh and you can visit the most beautiful royal museum for ancient ornaments, jewelry, Crown of the King and the Queen. Shey – The ancient capital of Ladakh, 17th-century copper gold gilt statue of historical Buddha Sakyamuni.
  • Thiksey, the most beautiful Gelukpa monastery, and huge famous Future Buddha- The Lord Maitreya and Hemis, The Drukpa monasteries located in the deep gorge. Overnight at Leh.

Day 05: Leh To Nubra Valley – Monday 27 May 2024 Khardong/ Khalsar/ Disket/Hunder (By Surface – Taxi 6 HRS DRIVE APPROX) 

  • Early morning drive to Nubra Valley, Of all the valleys in Ladakh, the Nubra is the most luxuriant and fertile lies North of Leh with the mighty Karakoram Range forming its northern boundary and the Ladakh range on its south. Two major tributaries of the Indus. The valley is lush green as far as the eye can see with glaciated peaks all around it. The route from Leh takes the travel far over the Khardongla pass (5,600 m) the highest motorable road in the world. The view from the top is amazing. One can see all the way south over the Indus Valley to the seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range. Diskit is the main village of Nubra division with Diskit Gonpa on a sheer rock cliff, built in the 16th century; 7 km from Diskit is Hunder village where the shaggy double-humped Bactrian camel is found. And camel riding in the dune between Diskit and Hunder village could be fun and more interesting in this region. Overnight at Nubra.

Day 06: Nubra Valley to Turtuk Tuesday 28 May 2024 (By Surface – Taxi) (FULL DAY TRIP)

  • Turtuk Falls in Baltistan – the place was under Pakistani control till 1971, heading further last thang village where the actual LOC falls. Don’t miss the chance to interact with the locals and their friendly behavior – the whole feel is like being in Pakistan. You can try delicious apricots here which are a major source of income for the locals. Visit Turtuk Waterfall and Turtuk Museum later if time permits. Also, enjoy the magnificent view of K2 peak in case of clear view.

Day 07: Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shayok Valley – Wednesday 29 May 2024 (6 HRS DRIVE APPROX.)

  • Today we venture on the same route till Khalsar and from there by turning our left indicator our drive goes towards the eastern part of Ladakh, along the Shayok River. We drive up to Pangong Lake (15000 ft) along Shayok river trails with mesmerising landscape and water crossing playing on gravel roads is common on this road, this drive will take you to the deep enchanting nature of open roads. Overnight at Pangong Lake.

Day 08: Pangong to Hanle via Loma Bend – Thursday 30 May 2024  (By Surface 310 Kms / 08 hrs)

  • After an early breakfast, we will drive towards Hanle village. Hanle is in the highlands of the Changthang region of Ladakh. It is one of the most beautiful places in Changthang region. The Hanley monastery has a picturesque bird’s eye view of the village. This village is home to about 1000 people. Hanle Monastery is a 17th-century monastery of the Drukpa lineage of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery has 60 monks. The main monastery, one of the largest and best known of Ladakh’s monasteries, was built under the protege of the kind single Namgyal. The views from the top of the monastery are just breathtaking. Hanle also houses an Indian astronomical observatory which is the world’s highest observatory in the world at a staggering height of 4500 meters. Overnight in local Homestay.

Day 09: Hanle to Umling La and Tso Leh – Friday 31 May 2024 (via Chumathang By Surface – 10/11 Hrs) 

  • After breakfast, we drive to the world’s highest motorable road Umling La back towards Leh via Chumathang Hot Springs. Interested ones can take a bath in the famous Hot Springs of Chumathang. We reach Leh by Late evening and interested ones can visit the market and go shopping. Overnight at Leh.

Day 10: Tour ends – Saturday 1 June 2024 ( Departure from Leh)

Very Important Notes: 
  • The sequence of the day-wise itinerary may change depending upon daily tour departure time, re-schedules/restrictions or road blockage, Govt rules, heavy snowfall, and all other unforeseen natural and travel-related conditions or vehicle issues due to extremely bad road conditions.
  • If there is any unprecedented hike in the cost of travel/stay/govt fees or any other circumstances that are beyond the organizer’s control due to any natural calamities. The additional cost incurred will be payable by the traveler in addition to the original package cost.
  • Every traveler must have done a Rapid-Antigen Test as per current regulation ( Jan’ 2023)
  • Smoking, Alcohol, Drugs, Narcotics any kind of intoxication, firearms, and gambling are strictly prohibited.   • Delays in the above schedule can be considered as vehicle breakdowns, health issues of participants, or any other unforeseen condition beyond the organizer’s control. Request to cooperate.

Things to carry:

  • Performance Clothing Lightweight Long Underwear – 2 pairs of Tops & Bottoms(in case the weather gets cold).
  • Should be made of moisture-wicking synthetic material (capilene, polypropylene or Merino Wool.) Snug fit is important. Lightweight is preferable as it is more versatile (worn single in warmer conditions and double layer for colder).

    • Insulating Layers
    • Lightweight Insulating gloves – 1 pair of fleece or wool.

    socks on some days.
    • Wool/Synthetic Hat -1. Make sure your ears are covered.
    • Sandals / Slippers – 1 pair.
    • Sun Shades / Glasses – 1 pair(important).
    • Strong shoes. Any type preferably lightweight (Good Sports Shoes are also good)- 1 pair.

Personal Equipment

  • Sunscreen SPF 25(or more if needed) 2 small tubes.
  • Note: Sunscreen older than 6 months loses half of its SPF rating, make sure that you have new sunscreen.
    • Lipbalm – 1 stick.
  • 1 Litre Water Bottle – At least one bottle with 1 litre capacity. Bottles should be wide mouth and of hard, transparent plastic BPA free plastic or water bag or bladder systems.
    • Headlamp/small torch with Spare batteries-1
    • Toiletry Bag. Basics: Small Towel, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Baby Wipes. Include two rolls of toilet paper. ( One can get toilet paper and other basic items in Leh as well)
    • Hand Sanitizer or Other alcohol-based hand cleaners. A small bottle

Registration/Booking Information: To confirm a seat for the event, participants have two options: online or offline registration. Online Method:
  • Participants can register online through a website link.
  • The online registration process includes checking out through the website with the integration of the Cc-avenue payment gateway.
  • For online registration, participants are required to pay 100% of the event cost plus 3% of the payment gateway charges.
Offline Method:
  • Participants can choose the offline registration method.
  • In this case, participants need to transfer a minimum of 50% of the event amount through NEFT/Gpay/IMPS.
  • For offline registration, the first 50% of the event amount should be transferred 10 days before the actual event, and the remaining 50% should be transferred one day before the event.
For events lasting more than 4 days or any Himalayan events:
  • Participants need to transfer a minimum of 50% of the event amount 30 days before the event.
  • The remaining 50% should be transferred 5 days before the event. The remaining amount should be deposited as per the registration policy, or else the booking may be canceled without any refund.
Payment should be done through the mentioned modes only. EMI basis tour bookings are available with the integration of the Cc-avenue payment gateway, but cancellation of EMI bookings will incur a deduction of 10% of the tour cost plus additional applicable cancellation charges. Transfer of Seat:
  • For Himalayan events, seat bookings can be transferred to another person or shifted to the next batch, depending on availability. A notice of 20 days prior to the event is required.
  • For Sahyadri 1/2/3-day events, seat bookings can also be transferred or shifted to the next batch, with a notice of 24 hours prior to the event.
Refund:
  • In the case of seat cancellation, participants need to write an email to offbeat.wanderers17@gmail.com with the reason for cancellation.
  • Refunds are calculated based on the actual full cost of the event, not the advance payment.
  • No refund will be provided within 24 hours of the event. For detailed refund information, refer to the cancellation policy.
Cancellation:
  • The cancellation policy applies to the total cost of the tour/event, excluding paid advance.
  • For overnight 1/2/3-day Sahyadri events:
    • 75% refund if canceled prior to 5 days of the event.
    • 50% refund if canceled prior to 2 days of the event.
    • 30% refund if canceled prior to 1 day of the event.
    • No refund if canceled within 12 hours of the event.
  • For 5-day or any Himalayan events:
    • 75% refund if canceled prior to 30 days of the event.
    • 50% refund if canceled prior to 20 days of the event.
    • 15% refund if canceled prior to 10 days of the event.
    • No refund if canceled after that.
Covid-19 Cancellation Policy:
  • Refunds are provided if participants provide an ICMR/Govt lab-approved report. Travel costs will be deducted as per the cancellation policy.
  • In case of a medical emergency in the family or quarantine, the tour cost will be adjusted for the next available dates/tour. Travel costs will be deducted as per the cancellation policy.
  • State-wise regulations or government regulations will result in the cost being adjusted for the next available dates/tour.
Please note that refunds will be transferred online via NEFT after 15 days from the actual event date. If Offbeat Wanderers cancels the event due

Smoking, Alcohol, Drugs, Narcotics and any kind of intoxication, firearms and gambling strictly prohibited. Please do not litter, we believe in the saying,  “When you go to the mountain leave only your footprints and bring back only memories” The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members.  No Arguments will be entertained. Hiking / Trekking / Rock climbing is an adventurous activity and accidents can happen in spite of taking utmost caution and care. The Offbeat Wanderers will not be responsible for injury / accident to the participant while on trek.

Medical Disclaimer: It’s Important to be fit before going for Treks. It is Important to have a medical fitness checkup done.
