Karoli Ghat Trek – Stunning Mystical Valley and Waterfalls.

Karoli Ghat Trek Information:

Karoli Ghatwat is very unusual but the best scenic monsoon trek. Over the trek witness reverse waterfall, deep jungle, many waterfalls and streams. Karoli ghat is a route starts from Samrad Village and end at Dehne Village. Locals use this trail for there regular trading work in the Winter & Summer Season. This scenic ghat route has lot of small & Huge waterfalls, beautiful jungle trails, river streams and many more unmatched natural scene. This Ghatwat runs deep down parallelly to sandhan base camping area. 

Sandhan valley is 200 ft deep and about approx 3 km long water carved valley. It is located on the west side of beautiful Bhandardara region, near Samrad village. The valley remains closed in monsoon season due gushing water flood in narrow space. The beauty of this valley in rainy season is unexplored like a mystery. We will explore this mystery to see How it look like in Monsoon. Experience 700ft reverse waterfall from top and later while descending via Karoli Ghat trek we will get complete view of this gigantic waterfall.

IMP Note:- Karoli ghat trek depends on weather condition, so in case if last moment heavy raining we will not continue trek. Alternate offbeat trek will carried out in such condition.

The itinerary for the event will be as follows:

Day:0 – Saturday 22 June 2024 (Batch-1) |  

• Catch the below train as per the schedule mentioned.
• CSMT: 09:32pm | Dadar: 09:50pm | Kurla: 10:00pm | Ghatkopar: 10:06pm | Thane: 10:27pm | Kalyan: 11:13pm | Kasara: 00:13am
• (Do not miss the train as after no alternative transport is available till the campsite and you may miss the event in such case no refund entertained.) 
• 00:13 am –  Regroup at Kasara railway station middle ticket counter and transfer into local jeep (10 Pax Per jeep).
• En-route halt for tea/Quick snacks (Own Expenses.) & washroom at Dhaba.

Day:1 – Sunday 23 June 2024 (Batch-1)

• 05:00am – Early morning reach base village, having tea/breakfast and fresh up.
• 06:30am –  Short intro and brief about trail, and commenced trek.
• 07:00am – Head toward sandhan valley entrance, and further divert trail toward reverse waterfall.
• 08:00am – Start main descend of Karoli ghat with first patch welcoming flowing gushing waterfall.
• 09:30am – Parallels walk to walls and waterfalls will reach second and third rock patch.
• 11:00am – First stream cross and head toward main river crossing point. Rest here for while swimming and cliff jumping if time permits.
• 13:0pm – Cross main Karoli-Sandhan stream sangam point and head further to village.
• 13:30pm Reach village change cloths have lunch.
• 17:00pm further travel back & tour conclude with memories.
• 22:30pm Tentative reach back Mumbai, depend upon travel condition.
• Note: Depend upon stream/river flow + 1 or 2 hrs additional may required kindly co-operate the same.

• Jeep Travelling from Kasara to Asangoan
• 1 bf/Tea, Lunch (Veg & N-Veg) 
• Forest and Village entry fees.

• Personal Expenses

Things to carry:

• Rucksack or bag to carry all things (Compulsory)
• Extra Mask and Personal Sanitizers
• Extra pair of cloths if required by you.
• Some ready eat food like plum cake, biscuits, fruits Paratha/Thepala/Boiled Eggs/Dates Etc. (Compulsory)
• Glucon-D or Electrolytes (Compulsory)
• Drinking water min 2ltr
• Personal medicine if any
• Headlamp or Torch (Compulsory)
• Good grip shoes (Compulsory)
• Full Sleeves Shirt & Full Pant.

Grade:- Medium 16km trekking (Difficult if heavy rain due to flooded stream crossing.)

The Alang Route Trek (Futkyachi Vaat), was an uncommon adventure unlike any other. It was packed with excitement, thrilling challenges, and endless fun. The recent rains had transformed the landscape, making the entire trek a visual feast. We feasted on fresh mangoes and Indian blue berry in the jungle!  The delicious home-cooked meals in the village added another layer of delight to the experience. To top it all off, a refreshing swim in the river at the trek's conclusion was pure bliss. Today we did Bhandardara Fireflies camping and trek. It was indeed an amazing and adventurous trip of the season for us. I liked the way Team Offbeat gives importance safety and security of each and every member of the group. Food from local villagers was great. Camping location was also best.
