Fireflies Festival camping, a famous and existing event held in Maharashtra by the forest department at kalsubai-harishchandragad wildlife sanctuary. Fireflies camping with sandhan valley trek are the best option for spending weekends in the pre-monsoon period watching tiny bugs make light within their bodies. This process is called bioluminescence and is shared by many other organisms, mostly sea-living or marine organisms. Fireflies light up to attract a mate. To do this, the fireflies contain specialized cells in their abdomen that help to create light. In this pre-monsoon period, get ready to witness a phenomenon which will just put you in awe of nature. We are talking about the tiny little twinkling creatures, which come out in millions at night in a breathtaking phenomenon. Fireflies Festival 2023, camping start on this year in the month of May to June.

Ever imagined what it would be like to watch a million twinkling stars in the open sky above your head? Add a dash of a spectacular light show orchestrated by the humble fireflies. This extraordinary phenomenon is observed every year just before monsoon at doorsteps. 

Our Campsite is located Samrad village in the Bhandardara region near the most famous Asia’s second number narrow  sandhan valley. The center point of all Fireflies Festival Bhandardara 2023 locations. You can witness fireflies nearby trees and the surrounding walkable area near the campsite. 


Cost for Fireflies Festival 2023 :

  • 1500/- Direct to Campsite / Self-drive. (Location will be shared post confirmation.)

  • 1999/ – From to Kasara Jeep Travel.

  • 2600/- From to Mumbai / Pune Tempo traveler.

Day-0 : Saturday 20 May (Batch:1) | 27 May (Batch:2) | 3 June (Batch:3) | 10 June (Batch:4) 2023


Ex-Kasara Jeep travel @1999/-

  • Catch the below train as per the schedule mentioned.
  • CSMT: 10:16am | Dadar: 10:29am | Kurla: 10:36am | Ghatkopar: 10:40am | Thane: 10:57am | Kalyan: 11:21am | Kasara: 12:34pm
  • We planned an earlier train as since the last 2 years observed that traffic congestion at the forest check-post delays campsite arrival.
  • (Do not miss the train as after no alternative transport is available till the campsite and you may miss the event in such case no refund is entertained.) 
  • 12:45 pm –  Regroup at Kasara railway station middle ticket counter and transfer into local jeep (10 Pax Per jeep). En route halt for tea/quick snacks (Own Expenses.) & washroom at Baba-ka-Dhaba. post proceed to campsite.

From-to Pune AC travel @2600/-

  • 10:00am – Pune Participant Meeting point at Deccan Bus Depot on Saturday morning.
  • Further pickup Shivaji Nagar, Nashik Phata, Bhosari, Rajgurunagar, Narayan goan.
  • The coordinator number, Vehicle details, and live location will be shared post confirmation.
  • En-route quick halt for snacks, tea, and washroom. (Own expenses.) Further proceed to camp.

From-to Mumbai AC travel @2600/-

  • 10:00am – Mumbai Participant Meeting point at Borivali National Park gate on Saturday morning.
  • Further pickup Oberai Mall, Andheri Flyover end, Bandra Kalanagar, Sion Lunch home, Amar Mahal Junction, Ghatkopar, Bhandup Pumping station, Teen hat naka thane, Majiwada – Rustamjee, Bhiwandi Bypass. 
  • The coordinator number, Vehicle details, and live location will be shared post confirmation.
  • En-route quick halt for snacks, tea, and washroom. (Own expenses.) Further proceed to camp.

Self Travel from-Mumbai/Pune:

  • 10:00am – Start your travel as it required around 5/6 hr drive time to reach campsite. Additional traffic and lunchtime, also it may 30+ min required to cross forest check-post further 5km road condition is not good. So plan your travel accordingly. Exact location map pin, contact name will be shared post confirmation. 

  • 17:00pm – Reach site tent pitching & tent allotment have tea/snacks. Witness sunset from Campsite. 
  • 18:00pm – Evening Snacks and Short briefing about fireflies and their life cycle.   
  • 20:00 pm – We will heading first phase of Fireflies sightseeing near-by area by jeep. Witness fireflies blooming. A short walk around it. Long exposure photography session.
  • 21:30pm – Back to Campsite Dinner call post spend sometime near campfire with friends.
  • 22:30 pm – Once again at the second phase will visit the surrounding trees for fireflies sightseeing and photos. Back to camp retire of the day.
  • 23:30pm – Photography session of fireflies, night sky and milky-way if clear sky. Bonfire chit-chat, and Retire of day.

Day-1 : Sunday 21 May (Batch:1) | 28 May (Batch:2) | 4 June (Batch:3) | 11 June (Batch:4) 2023

  • 05:00am – Wake up call for those who wanted to visit sandhan valley ( Which is the second number narrow valley in Asia also known as Valley of shadows.) Tea and biscuits and freshen up. Basic 2 Indian washroom is available near walking distance.
  • 06:00 am – Head into sandhan valley and trek till the water patch. Photos and start hike back to the village
  • 10:30 am – Further back to the village. Change clothes have breakfast and tea and start travel back.
  • 11:30 pm – Reach back kasara. Catch a respective train and Fireflies Festival 2023 conclude with memories.

Important note for Fireflies Festival 2023: 

  • Fireflies best sightseeing at remote places near tribal areas so basic washroom facilities are available. Note it’s not leisure camping event. 
  • Alcohol/Drugs Consumption strictly not allowed if observed organizers will boycott such individuals or group from the campsite.
  • If there will be heavy rain then we have to move villagers house in common dormitory style. Which will be little cozy.
  • This is a weather base activity. Fireflies are best seen just before arrival of monsoon, if rain has showered before spotting a good number of fireflies cannot be guaranteed. 
  • Kids Policy: Kids below 7 years 75% cost and no separate seats allotted while in travel. Kids above 7+ are calculate as per adult.

Registration/Booking

  • Participant needs to obtain Online (through website link) or Offline (Via NEFT/Gpay/IMPS) method for confirming seat.
  • Online method consist website checkout with the integration of Cc-avenue payment gateway in such case participant has to paid fully 100% of the event cost + 3% of payment gateway charges. In the offline method participant needs to transfer minimum 50% of the event amount for offline registration before 10 days of actual event  remaining 50% before one day of actual event. (Sahyadri Event)
  • For Event more then 4 days or any Himalayan Event participant needs to transfer minimum 50% of the event amount before 30 days of Event & remaining 50% before 5 days of Event.
  • The remaining amount should be deposited as per registration policy or else the booking is liable to be cancelled without no refund.
  • The payment should be done as per the modes mentioned above only.
  • As merchant we provide  EMI basis tour booking with integration of Cc-avenue payment gateway. EMI option available only with website check-out option.
  • In case of cancellation of EMI booking confirmation facility holder 10% of tour cost + additional applicable cancellation charges will be deducted. (For more detail about additional cancellation charges see rules & regulation tab.)

Transfer of seat

  • Himalayan Event seat booking transfer to other person or shift date as per next batch availabilities. Person need to inform 20 days prior of event. Otherwise slot treated as cancellation as per cancellation policy & refund will entertained in case applicable.
  • Sahyadri 1/2/3 days event seat booking transfer to other person or shift date as per next batch availabilities. Person need to inform 24 hrs prior of event. Otherwise slot treated as cancellation as per cancellation policy & refund will entertained in case applicable.
  • In any case of any event/tour seat need to transfer on other person name need to write email to offbeat.wanderers17@gmail.com with the reason of transfer after you may reach us at +919075431016 (Call-WhatsApp) as per above schedule.

Refund

  • In any case of any event/tour seat cancellation before 48/24 hrs or as per cancellation policy terms, participant needs to write email to offbeat.wanderers17@gmail.com with the reason of cancellation after you may reach us at +919075431016 (Call-WhatsApp)
  • All the refund calculated on actual full cost of the event, not over advance payment.
  • No refund will entertained before 24hrs of event. See the Refund details at cancellation policy.

Cancellation

(Applicable on total cost of tour/event. Not applicable on paid advance.)


Events (Applicable only for overnight 1/2/3 day sahyadri event)

  • If cancellation done prior to 5 days of 75% Refund.
  • If done prior to 2 days of outing 50% Refund.
  • If done prior to 01 days of outing 30% Refund.
  • 0-12 hrs prior start of event. No refund.

Events (Applicable only for 5 days or Any Himalayan event)

  • If cancellation done prior to 30 days of 75% Refund.
  • If done prior to 20 days of outing 50% Refund.
  • If done prior to 10 days of outing 15% Refund.
  • After that no refund will be provided.

Covid-19 cancellation Policy:

  • He/She needs to provide ICMR/Govt lab approved report in such case 100% of the tour cost will be refunded. (Travel cost will be deducted as per cancellation policy.)
  • Due to medical emergency in Family / Quarantine tour cost will be adjusted in next available dates/tour. (Travel cost will be deducted as per cancellation policy.)
  • State wise Regulation / Govt Regulation in such case cost will be adjusted in next available dates/tour.

Please Note all Refund will be transfer online via NEFT after 15 Days of actual event date. Due to any issue which is beyond our control or sudden govt regulation Offbeat Wanderers cancels the event, the full amount of tour cost will be refunded & travel cost will be adjusted as per travel vendor policy.

Important Notes:

  • Passengers/traveler/participant needs to carried out RTPCR test at own cost wherever required and from ICMR authorized lab, which should not be older than 48 hours from the date of Day-1.
  • Participant needs to get the personal medicines/insurance (Self and Travel) if any at own cost.
  • All the accommodations will be on sharing basis ( 3 person) in all the locations. Double sharing available at extra cost.
  • Participants needs to take care of belongings and all the electrical devices, cameras and ornaments, valuable things, we/our vendor will not be responsible for any kind of loss.
  • While visiting to high territory, climate unpredictable so that any change in itinerary/schedule, due any beyond our control incidents, natural calamities, bad weather conditions, road blocks or other  issues which is not in our control will be cost effective to all. (Due to which if any extra cost arise. Stay/Food/Travel same have to borne by individual/group participant)
  • Due to illness if medical expenses or if he/she will not join further plan. Occurred expenses will borne by participate, in case refund also not provided.

Smoking, Alcohol, Drugs, Narcotics and any kind of intoxication, firearms and gambling strictly prohibited. Please do not litter, we believe in the saying,  “When you go to the mountain leave only your footprints and bring back only memories” The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members.  No Arguments will be entertained. Hiking / Trekking / Rock climbing is an adventurous activity and accidents can happen in spite of taking utmost caution and care. The Offbeat Wanderers will not be responsible for injury / accident to the participant while on trek.

Medical Disclaimer: It’s Important to be fit before going for Treks. It is Important to have a medical fitness checkup done. If suffering from any allergy or ailment, please bring prescribed medicines to prevent serious health problem including heatstroke, severe headache, cough, dehydration and hypothermia. Participants suffering from chronic conditions like asthma, bronchitis, blood pressure, migraine, diabetes etc. should take permission from their physicians before treks.
